The Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC) is an earlier version of the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), which was used before 2008 to provide potential franchisees with important information about the franchisor, the franchise opportunity, and the terms of the franchise agreement. It was legally required to disclose information such as franchise fees, royalties, financial performance representations, and more. While the UFOC is no longer in use, many of its elements were incorporated into the FDD to ensure transparency and protect franchisees.
