Franchise Resale

This term
A franchise resale is the sale of an existing franchise unit by the current owner to a new buyer.

A franchise resale occurs when an existing franchisee sells their unit to a new franchisee, often with approval from the franchisor. Resales can be attractive opportunities because the business is already operational, has an established customer base, and existing staff. However, buyers should perform due diligence on the unit’s financials, lease agreements, and compliance history. The franchisor may provide support during the transition.
